I have discovered a lovely way to combine my lifelong love of crocheting with the gift of Reiki. You may be familiar with prayers shawls, which are created by those who knit and crochet for others during times of crisis, to celebrate a milestone or to honor a passage. I borrowed that lovely concept and simply added Reiki.
Reiki prayer shawls are created and presented for the same reasons as traditional prayer shawls, but Reiki is literally placed into every stitch. The practice of Reiki utilizes ancient symbols to represent specific intentions during treatments. Each symbol has a Japanese name/mantra, which I repeat as a prayer on behalf of the recipient as the shawl is stitched. The finished shawl, soft and warm, becomes a perpetual Reiki treatment for the recipient to wear. This is truly a gift that keeps on giving!
I would be honored to create a Reiki prayer shawl for you or someone you love. The finished shawl will measure approximately 19" x 65", excluding fringe, which adds approximately 11" to either end. Some stretching and increased softness should be expected as the shawl is worn. Delivery is usually by USPS Priority Flat Rate shipping.
Please keep in mind that these shawls are crocheted in a home with cats and dogs. Special care is taken to work on them in a pet-free zone, but a highly allergic recipient may still have a problem, so please take this into consideration before ordering. Please note that Reiki prayer shawls cannot be returned for refund or credit.
